On 1/31/16 at 16:32, the Baldwinsville volunteers were dispatched to Conifer Village for the reported apartment fire with an elderly person still inside. As units responded, fire control indicated the lone occupant was removed with the help of a neighbor. Multiple Baldwinsville units were in house cleaning up from our pancake breakfast yesterday and arrived shortly after dispatch. Car 5 (Capt. Natoli) arrived with nothing showing. Car 1 (Chief Rutherford) arrived and assumed command in front.

After gaining entry, a fire was found in the kitchen and quickly extinguished. Arriving companies performed search and rescue, ventilation, utility control, salvage, with the fire contained to the area of the stove.

As crews were taking up another reported structure fire was dispatched in the area of Downer Street and Ford Street. Companies arrived in less than a minute and confirmed a good intent call. Appears the good weather allows for some extra BBQ time for all of us.

Thank you to all our mutual aid fire companies (including Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department, Lakeside Fire Department, Liverpool Fire Department New York) and Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps for their assistance at both alarms. Units were put back in service with an hour and a half.
